Set the Bolts in Place

Each locking plate has 6 pre-drilled holes. Insert the "cap" end of the bolt into these holes.

Align and Connect

Each base beam has a tab or socket on one end. They are designed to connect together for a strong, stable base. Once they are connected, line up the locking plates with the matching holes and feed the bolts through. Hand tighten a few threads to hold in place.

Tighten it up

Once all bolts are aligned properly and hand tightened, use the Allen wrench to tighten each bolt from the underside. As you turn the wrench, the locking plate will pull firmly against the base beam, locking everything together into a solid, stable structure.

now, let's make the larks head knot

Using the rope and rope stops, you're going to create a Larks Head knot. 1: Make a loop with the rope. 2: Feed that loop through the hole in the rope stopper. 3: Wrap both ends of the rope around each side of the stopper and pull tight.

Repeat process for each side

Once one rope stop is secured, feed the rope through the openings on the bottom of the surfboard supports and do the Larks Head Knot on the opposite side. Then, repeat at the other end of the board.

drop in & let's hang ten!

Now that your base is solid and your board is roped up, drop the stoppers into the top notches of the uprights and you're set! Your board is now suspended within the frame, giving you the perfect setup to practice balance and movement.

Hang Ten Trainer Assembly & Setup FAQs

Can’t get it level – what should I do?

If your Hang Ten Trainer isn’t level, check the alignment of the Lark’s Head knots and ensure the rope is threaded evenly through the board supports. Adjust the rope stops as needed to level the board. It might take a little tweaking, but once it’s balanced, you’ll be ready to roll!

I’m not sure if I’m installing the rope correctly – any tips?

When tying the Lark’s Head knots, make sure you’re feeding the rope through the hole in the rope stop and bring each side over the end of the stop, creating a secure loop. If the rope feels too loose or too tight, adjust the knot to get the right tension. This will ensure the board stays suspended properly.

How heavy is the Hang Ten Trainer once it’s assembled?

Roughly 55lbs. We use a surfboard bag to carry it to the beach.

Is the trainer safe to use on elevated surfaces?

We recommend using the Hang Ten Trainer on a flat, stable surface. Avoid using it on elevated areas, as falling could cause injury. Stick to level ground for a safe and enjoyable experience while practicing.

Can I leave the Hang Ten Trainer assembled for long periods of time?

It’s best to store the Hang Ten Trainer in a safe, dry place when not in use. If you're keeping it assembled for extended periods, ensure that it’s not in a high-traffic area to avoid unnecessary wear and tear.
